LOL, those results are all over the map. That tells me that most people don't have enough evidence to make an informed decision.

I don't think Bush had a damned thing to do with the response. The way that federal disaster relief is supposed to work is: Local authorities arrive on the scene and should have a plan; followed by State authorities to sustain the relief effort until the federal response arrives and handles the majority of the relief effort. The state and local response was PATHETIC in this case and the feds didn't have shit to work with once they arrived.

However, the FEMA director should probably have some blame in the slow response once he realized how poorly prepared the devastated areas were. And Bush appointed him, so maybe he does have to shoulder some (small) responsibility.

I'm sure all this will be over-analyzed and some drastic changes will be made in the upcoming weeks/months.

Bush had raised eyebrows on his first trip by, among other things, picking Sen. Trent Lott, R-Miss. - instead of the thousands of mostly poor and black storm victims - as an example of loss. ''Out of the rubbles of Trent Lott's house - he's lost his entire house - there's going to be a fantastic house. And I'm looking forward to sitting on the porch,'' Bush said with a laugh from an airplane hangar in Mobile, Ala.
In the same remarks,

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bush gave FEMA chief Brown - the face for many of the inadequate federal response - a hearty endorsement. ''Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job,'' Bush said.
Later in Biloxi, Miss., Bush tried to comfort two stunned women wandering their neighborhood clutching Hefty bags, looking in vain for something to salvage from the rubble of their home.
He kept insisting they could find help at a Salvation Army center down the street, even after another bystander had informed him it had been destroyed.
And at his last stop that day, at the airport outside of New Orleans, Bush lauded the increasingly desperate city as a great town because he used to go there and ''enjoy myself - occasionally too much.''

These were some of my favorites

Nah I don't think Bush was at fault with Katrina, I believe he gave an evac order to the Mayor around five days out and understood the levee system was in trouble with this storm. I think the Mayor and Governor screwed up not sending in the National Guard/State Troopers prior to the storm an forcing an evacuation. I know that Bush is going to take a hit and probably say some really stupid stuff like he sometimes does but he is not at fault.

Also thanks for the congrats on my Aggies this weekend, I see your team had it's game cancelled do to the Hurricane, you do go to UNT correct? Because if you were a Horn you'd live in Austin and attend or have graduated from there. Oh wait you did go there in the early 1990's, how long have you been an undergrad? I think about 15 years now, man get a grip. Did you quit, flunk or just drink your way out of Austin I forget. Any of the three proves your a dumb ass, pick one and smile.

Did you say rational? Pro Trash, your previous post have been far from rational. I know b/c I could take a poll on this board and I know that you would loose the rational argument.

What's up Hook em run out things to say? Here I'll help you out you could defend your position on Texas but why bother what I said was true you screwed up at Texas and had to leave. You love the Horns but at some point in the next twenty years may earn a BS from UNT, hence you are confused as to your alumuni status. To be called "Alumni" or sport a UT sticker on your ride like you are Alumni would seem more true if currently attend or graduated from the school in question.

No, not at all. It's rather silly to rehash your attacking me for joining the military, ad nauseum. Instead, I choose to use your words to beat you over the head with. I've defended it, you're obviously too slow to "Get it," as we've been down that road 500 times. As to you knowing something to be true? I'm laughing my fucking ass off. Every day you post, you get caught in some kind of lie.

Well if the discussion must be about being rational thinking then you proved you are not thinking rationally. Please observe the numer of supposed posts above then compare that number to total posts made by myself. The picture I get is you are embellishing on the posts where I blame or not blame Bush. I just posted a gas price post that didn't blame Bush yesterday I believe on another thread. If I am moving to fast for that one track mind of yours let me know and I'll try to dumb down for you.

I think the confusion here is you do not have a sense of humor. But yet no worries, I sensed that by when you called yourself a liberal. Being that you are consumed with so much Bush hate, were is the room for humor? But I think we should just make a post in this forum to see if people really think your position on Bush is rational. Travis, how can we talk about rational thinking when you are not rational yourself? or do you care to bring up old bridges you've already burned? your running out of road here.

Every day you post, you get caught in some kind of lie.

So if someone reads something, does a little research and changes their opinion then they lie? I am not sure what thought process you are using but every day you get on here a scream liar. You still haven't replied to my tutition rate post where I proved you are full of shit. You spend so much time trying to prove a lie you fail to pay attention to detail ie A&M not Commerce. Now if I was to call you a name it would be dumbass because you have proven that is what you are being today, but I will refrain from calling you dumbass in the hope you may change tomorrow. So if someone changes their opinion does that mean they have the ability for abstract thought and can learn? I know say "beep beep beep" I am backing up because you couldn't possibly contend that I can change my opinion and give GW any credit. Who is the dumbass now? The person willing to research a topic and accept new material as fact ( me) or the exact opposite (you)?

I have in the past called people names then KJ94GT got on here edited some of my posts and posted up name calling is to stop. I did but what I found is for the most part on this site if you don't think Bush is great most of you all get all pissed off and attack like dogs. No civility in it what so ever, you choose to call names still you have the right to say what you think no matter how juvenille it sounds

Travis, how can we talk about rational thinking when you are not rational yourself? or do you care to bring up old bridges you've already burned? your running out of road here.

Okay so what is todays post about Bush mean then, maybe just maybe, I can be rational. Maybe I don't hate Bush but really enjoy watching you guys run around and deal with all the BS I start. Maybe I am rational, let's see, if I come on here and blame Bush for the gas prices 281R and Hook em are going to be busy for at least twenty minutes googling the issue and replying. All the while I understand the economics of the current gas prices. Anytime I mention fed and tax you guys scream liberal, this gets fun after a while.

I couldn't possibly know that the gas crisis began to form in 97-98 when the asian currency scare occured, oil prices dropped to record lows and OPEC slowed production and almost stopped exporting. I wouldn't understand that a surplus existed then and gas prices fell, no one was concerned with conservation and we bought Cobra's and SUVs and enjoyed decent fuel prices. The lack of output petroleum wise and high consumption led to a higher demand coupled with a supply issue. Let's not leave out the environmentalists who have blocked the building of new refineries. This has maxed out the current abilities of working refineries who can't keep up with demand creating a shortage. Then add Katrina which slows down our refining even more and bam you have a gas crisis.

So if someone finds new info and changes their opinion then they are still wrong according to you. Please feel free to shut up and try to be man for a change just agree I finally trumped you. Heck I even think Reagan was a great President now why don't you dog on me for that?

You haven't taken your meds today, son. I haven't said one word about you, Bush, and Katrina. You're a pathetic, hypocritical, lying, piece of shit braggart., and you make it incredible easy to point out.
