Why don't the Iraqi's stand up and fight the insurgents?

Can someone explain to me why there seems to be daily reports about car bombings killing innocent Iraqi civilians but very few seem to stand up and fight against them? I know there no shortage of people lining up to be police and fight against them, but they seem to be the minority. Why do those people get it but the average citizen does not?

It is not like other Muslims have never taken American aid to fight someone, so why not at least get the insurgents out who are killing them?

I would think the average Iraqi realizes now that we are not there to leave them unprotected. I would think their hatred of us would eventually be overridden by the fear of being killed by foreign insurgents.

From what I hear the insurgents are not from inside the cities anymore, which makes it hard to identify them.

When the Marines went in to Falluja the people didn't trust them. Shortly people would come tell the Marines about them, while not wanting to get involved. Later, the Marines would be patrolling and the Iraqis would run up to a guy on the street yelling "Bad guy! Bad guy!", pointing directly in their faces.

So it take time to win the trust of the people.

Imagine that, those stories aren't making it to CBS or Newsweek. I am shocked!

Little girl analogy

I feel the citizens are scared of them(ie. insurgents, terrorists). The only way I can compare it to is this:
Say there is a 7 year old little girl; she doesn't know life like an adult. Her Daddy hits her and her Mom everyday. So, she is scared everyday and this eventually becomes a normal part of her life. This goes on for years for this little girl. But she doesn't know what to do because nobody has ever taught her how to get help from someone else. Eventually the little girl gets older but the violence dosn't stop. But, the good part is that in school, other teachers are seeing the abuse. So those teachers rush in with Social Services, the Police, and Foster care workers. The little girl feels safer now but the memories are still there of the hitting and yelling. This little angel will feel better with her self and come out of her shell and she will help with HER OWN healing as well.

Now lets insert: Little girl=The good Iraqi citizens
Mommy=Old Iraqi government
Daddy=Saddam Hussein and his Dead punkass sons
Memories of Abuse=insurgents and terrorists
Social Services=Contractors
Police=American Military (THE GOOD GUYS)
Foster Care=Allies in the war against terrorism.

This a crude way and if someone can jazz it up then by all means go for it.

I understand your point, my question is when will they finally stop acting like the 7 year old girl? Maybe it is happening it is just too slow for my taste. I want my fellow Americans home as soon as possible.

Until we catch Iraqi al Quida terrorist mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the violence will increase. Also their weak border control sucks ass! Here is a new story on the sorry SOB that is in charge of all this chaos!

Unhappy al-Zarqawi ordered more strikes

Catching this fag along with the top 2 al Quida jackasses(Bin Laden and his butt buddy) that will help trim the violence. Of course some other idiot will come into play after they have been captured!
