I feel the citizens are scared of them(ie. insurgents, terrorists). The only way I can compare it to is this:
Say there is a 7 year old little girl; she doesn't know life like an adult. Her Daddy hits her and her Mom everyday. So, she is scared everyday and this eventually becomes a normal part of her life. This goes on for years for this little girl. But she doesn't know what to do because nobody has ever taught her how to get help from someone else. Eventually the little girl gets older but the violence dosn't stop. But, the good part is that in school, other teachers are seeing the abuse. So those teachers rush in with Social Services, the Police, and Foster care workers. The little girl feels safer now but the memories are still there of the hitting and yelling. This little angel will feel better with her self and come out of her shell and she will help with HER OWN healing as well.
Now lets insert: Little girl=The good Iraqi citizens
Mommy=Old Iraqi government
Daddy=Saddam Hussein and his Dead punkass sons
Memories of Abuse=insurgents and terrorists
Police=American Military (THE GOOD GUYS)
Foster Care=Allies in the war against terrorism.
This a crude way and if someone can jazz it up then by all means go for it.
