Talking Need Help

When I start my compter up, it automatically goes into selective startup mode and then locks up. It was working fine last night I'm using win ME by the way, that could be the problem right there. Can anybody help me out??

Thanks,

Eric

Not sure why its doing that. Go ahead and start it in safe mode and reboot. I have ME on one of my laptops. I havent ever had to do a restore on it. Its over 2 years old. Did you download anything lastnight. Did you install any new programs?

Nope, didn't download or install anything last night, was just on this site is all. I tried going into safe mode and restoring to a past date when the cpu was working and that didn't work either. It just automatically goes into selective startup mode and locks up. My pc runs all day long and has an athlon tbird processor. I have no idea what is causing this.

Thanks for your reply,
Eric

I bet you don't want to hear this, but it's probably a good time to upgrade to XP. Windows ME has been known for giving nothing but grief.

" Windows was unable to process the registry " Also says that when the cpu is turned on. Sounds like a conflict with win ME, time to upgrade I guess.

Thanks for all the replies. I went ahead and just did a restore and am downloading all my drivers for aftermarket hardware. Yes, I think I'm going to go ahead and upgrade anyway. Shane, you have a PM.
