Linksys or other DSL/Cable router

I'm interested in buying a router for use at home with my Charter Cable internet service. Which one do you recommend? Is Linksys the way to go? Where would I look for the best prices? Thanks.

I have a Linksys and a Belkin. I actually like the Belkin better Office Max I have seen has the best Belkin Router prices especially after the rebates.

DO NOT GET D-LINK. Horrible product and technical support sucks.

Best price I could find on the Belkin router after browsing Office Max , Price Watch, and Price Grabber is $39.99 w/ $10 mfg. mail in rebate. With shipping it's right at $49.

Hmmm. I can get an SMC for $39 + free shipping. That's probably the one I'll go with.

Most of the customer's I deal with at work use Linksys Routers. I just bought a D-Link Router with wireless Acess Point because it had better features over the Linksys.
  • Better Encryption (256 Bit WEP vs. 128 Bit WEP)
  • I've heard from friends that the D-Link provides better penetration and range when talking about the wireless capabilities.
  • Better pricing. D-Link is offering a $20 Mail In Rebate, plus I got a $10 Instant Rebate through Buy.com, free shipping, and no tax

I guess I'll see how the D-Link works out.
