Here is a list of most of the websites and links that have been posted over the past couple of weeks. I didn't have the time to list everything here but it is a good start. Check here first before you ask a question, you might beable to fix the problem yourself and learn something in the meantime.

http://avicodec.duby.info/ - AVIcodec will tell you if you are missing the codec and can load page from which you can download the file, no searching the web is needed. It will also give you a list of all codecs currently installed.

Another good one is http://www.filext.com/, it's a good source for finding out what programs use what extension or what type of file it is.

Which one are you using?

SNES9x, and ZSNES work great. ZSNES is probably the best available.

As for where to find roms... good luck. They're getting harder and harder to find. IRC, Newsgroups, or p2p are going to be your best bets.

I was having trouble with virtualNES but I got it to work but it just seems to eatup all my resources.

Best NES emulators I've used are Nesticle, and RockNES. For SNES, the two I mentioned above are the best.

Neither of them are resource hogs. Might give 'em a go and see how things work out for you.
