Video card question

I just bought this computer and it has Intel HD Graphics on board.

http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0336138

I also have this old nVidia 7800GT video card lying around:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814139175

Which do you think is better, the Intel or the Nvidia?

I know...it is just build into the motherboard. I could always run that Windows Index score and see which is higher.

If I'm not mistaken, the I-3's have the video on the CPU die itself. I think some bench testing will be your best bet to answer your question.

This is just one mans opinion but I'd take a dedicated videocard over onboard video any day.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

Intel on-board is crap! Go with the Nvidia as it has a dedicated 256MB of RAM built-in. Your computer will need a free PCI Express slot and a decent power supply to run the Nvidia. Also, go to the Nvidia website and download their newest drivers...dont use the one that came with the card.

Go with the 7800GT. Intel integrated could barely run farmville.

98 GT.
5 Speed
3.73's
Full Exhaust
Eibach Sportlines
18" Chrome Cobra R's
PI swap.

I wouldn't use the Windows Experience as a point of reference, it's shit. Run an actual benchmark test and you'll have much better answers.

Ouch, 300W isn't going to cut it with that 7800. Minimum is a 400W with 26A on the 12V rail.

If you'll get a PSU, I have a BFG 9600 GT OC that you can have. Lemme know.

Bump if you're interested in that GPU.

I'll take it. I have a 500W power supply from an old computer I am going to put in it, just haven't got around to doing it yet.
