I went ahead an ordered one, then found out my PC doesn't have AHCI mode in the BIOS. I hope it still works. I don't want to have to upgrade my MB/CPU.
My cousin got one and loaded his OS (windows 7) and I wasnt that impressed... it did boot up faster...but not that much faster. Not worth the extra costs to me.
That's the key to me as well. All the folks I know that have installed it love the boot times, ESPECIALLY in laptops it really makes a nice difference. Problem is you generally will need external storage then or in a desktop some more drives. In a desktop, no biggy, but in a laptop that sucks have to haul the other drive around all the time.
I'll admit though, I'm waiting for them to get higher capacity and cheaper - then I'll do a PC upgrade. Just at the moment they are bit expensive for the gains.
I have the 80gb Intel and never looked back. Best purchase I think I made in a long time for a computer.
