What resolution do you have your screen set to?

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

1280X800 seems to do the trick for me. That's the best I can do with my antiquated setup.

Thanks for the help, guys.

I love easy fixes.

If you notice tearing while watching videos or gaming, try a lower resolution.

Whats the brand and model number? LCDs arent like the ole CRT monitors where you can run any 4:3 reso and it looks ok, LCDs picture quality goes to crap when ya run anything other than its native reso

The trouble with doing something right the first time is that nobody appreciates how difficult it was.

Post the make/model of your monitor and your graphics card. You'd be surprised at what running native to what your monitor supports can do.

Example, mine runs in 1680x1050 (fairly boring these days), but if I run higher or lower than that (sometimes games default either or and I don't notice it for a few minutes) it looks shoddy.

I've got an HP Netbook, and I'm pretty sure that there's no help, but I thought I'd put it out there. It shows much bigger on the monitor than I get on the screen, but not quite the full 20". I'm pretty sure that the "stock" vid card just won't handle it, but I wanna hear it for sure.

It shows up as 18" plus, which beats the heck outta the 8" screen, but not full screen ("20). Make sense?

You mean you have a black border around your screen? If so then you are running too low a reso. You need to go to display settings and turn it to the max setting you can.
