PS3 3-D update

The update to make the PS3 3-D bluray compatible rolled out yesterday and the update for the games came out a few weeks ago and I'm lovin it !!!

Ive played MLB the show demo and motorstorm 3d rift, and its Fu king awesome. Can't wait until nov 2 for gran turismo 5 in 3-D.

Downside - my samsung 3-D bluray player is now useless since the ps3 simply does everything !!!

PS3 FTMFW

Do you have to wear 3-d glasses on 3-d televisions/displays?

There is 3D technology that doesn't need glasses (new nintendo DS comes to mind), but I'm not sure if there's any TV's. The problem with 3d is there isn't one format there's multiple's, and I think some of the "legacy 3d" tv's won't work with this new ps3 update. One of the con's of being an early adopter I guess.
So the PS3 will output, its gonna be up to your TV to accept.

Gotcha. Glasses-less technology has to be the way to go, otherwise it's going to be a complete failure. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to wear glasses all the time during a movie or while gaming.

It wouldn't mind me, but if I was doing something "allday" or at a lan than hell no.
I only play an hour or two a day.

Has anyone done a study on the longterm affect of 3d on the human brain? I can't imagine looking at a 3d image for hours upon hours can be good. What would it feel like to play a 3d game for 15hrs straight?

I did the update yesterday and we tried watching Ironman blu ray in regular 2d and the picture looked darker than it used to and I had to crank the sound up to hear it. I dont know if it was an issue with the update or what.

Guess I don't plan on updating. I don't have a 3D tv and don't care for 3D movies/shows.

Wearing the glasses doesn't bother me. Playing games doesn't either. Now if every time I watched tv it was in 3-D, It might bother me but we are a long way off from that.

I can't fucking stand 3D. I hate watching it and I hate what it's doing to the media industry. I just don't get it.

Lol at holograms. If it made me puke i guess I wouldn't like it either, after all no one likes to yack.

I just think its cool as shit, guess that's why we dropped the coin for the 3-D setup.

It emphasizes presentation over content. I could care less about video games in 3D, but it's going to ruin the film industry.
