Military bans new Medal of Honor game.

http://www.news4jax.com/news/24934271/detail.html

G4tv had a great segment on this subject today. Apparently the game gives the player the option to either be U.S. Military, or the Taliban. What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I say it's just a game. I mean come on, MW2 had an undercover U.S. agent mowing down civilians in a Russian airport. I would like to think that even if our troops decided to play as the Taliban, they're smart enough to distinguish fantasy from reality.

The U.S. military has banned the game on all of its military bases, and it won't be sold in any of the base exchanges or GameStop stores on base.
I'm not sure if that means it is banned on base premise or just at AAFES facilities. Either way, the military does what it wants and it does not matter what anyone really thinks.

I too think that enlisted and officer personnel can obviously tell the difference.

Just that AAFES/Gamestop won't sell it...soldiers can still own it.

Hell, who cares then right?

AAFES is the biggest monoply out there IMO. I don't know about now, or your experience - but when I was in there were very few awesome/great deals.

If the PX and a public store had a product, the PX would price match (cause they were always higher by default), which was nice since you did not pay tax on it then.

Otherwise, we bought most of our stuff off base. By "we" a bunch of single soldiers, the PX maybe better for families.

Anyway, I think the article tried to spin it that the US military is forbidding it to even be in a person's possession. Since it is not, I don't see this being a big deal at all.
