Internet Explorer 8 System Crash

I downloaded IE8 two days ago and my laptop had a system crash this morning. It wouldn't start up so I had to restore it back to the original system settings. Unfortunately, all my stuff seems to be gone. Is there a way for me to pull it back up?

Btw, I'm on my backup laptop now.

I've been on IE8 for months on my home XP desktop, work Vista desktop, and home Win7 laptop.

I don't think the crash was caused by IE8. If you restored to factory settings, you lost everything.

That sucks. I had a lot of stuff on it that I can't recover.

You can try this but you need some other form of media to try and recover to.
