Stupid pdf question

Ok, does anybody know how to print just the text of a certain pdf document? The file I'm trying to print has a graphic border on the top and bottom, I just need to do the text in the middle, and have it line up for a label.

Any ideas?

Put the cursor right before what you want to copy, hold down the left mouse button and drag it over that area. Once it is hilited, right click and select copy

Scroll down a bit and you will see this...

Some PDF's are locked, so the little hand won't let you select text, it drags the doc around. There is usually a tool to "Select text" you have to click

Yeah, that isn't working for me for a pdf file, it just moves the page around where I'm dragging it.

I edited my post just for that! Go to Tools, there should be a Select Tool option

Isn't working either.

Rob, are you using acrobat? I just realized I'm using some third party pdf viewer since for some reason adobe was closing acrobat every time I opened a pdf for some dumb reason.

Just saw that, lol. I've gotten the text to select, but I can't just the selected portion for some reason. I just called my boss and he said "Hmm, that's a good question" and said not to worry about it for now, so I guess I give up for tonight.

If it is an embeded image with text in it, you may not be able to just select the text alone, it would be the whole damn image.

It also depends on how the PDF was created. If someone created it using PDF maker printer, it is 1 image file that you cannot use the select tool. Best way for that is to copy into word or some thing else and use a text recognition program, or do the cropping of the image.

Why do they call it "Common Sense" when it is so rare?

Yeah, that would work, but I explained it to our customer that we couldn't print it that way, and I think they're going to just change the design. The issue is the paper I'm supposed to print it on has a header and footer for the customer's business, the pdf has the same header, and a different footer. When I print the pdf's image it prints the header over the header that's already there, it's off center from it, too. The footer on it is completely different, and covers up the footer on the paper, it just looks like complete shit. When I explained the problem we're having he said he would look into changing it so we don't have to go through and edit the pdf file every time we print something.
