So a few weeks back my speed went to absolutely nothing, and unable to stream video's, music, games, etc. However, browsing pages that do not require any bandwith run lightning fast still. Pages like craigslist, and web forums without excessive advertisements load instantly, unless there is a stream or picture loading in another browser obviously.
So I call alltel/verizon tech support and I get the normal run around thru 9 tech departments(thank god they dont outsource)for them to tell me there are no problems with my speeds and that it is unusual to get more than 400kbps. I personally have been seeing 1200-2000kbps for the most part of the last year.
So tonight I get curious and run some diagnostics thru dslreports.com. The tests all time out(just like streaming files). The network diagnostics tool (http://ndt.iupui.donar.measurement-lab.org:7123/
) tells me excessive packet queueing and it then times out.
Here I start a stream from a site that usually gives me no problems. You can see it spikes up and then levels out with what I can assume is a blockage of packets(Queing?)
So here it is a short time later, no activity.
So I leave the stream and go to another seemingly high bandwith page and it is back to working again like magic.
