Exclamation No Audio Output Device Installed??

I did some updates that popped up and now I have no sound, my little speaker on my toolbar has a red "X" on it. I just recently put in a Creative Soundcard as well.

I went to HP and downloaded my driver and rebooted but nothing, still the same?

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

Till adding the the X-Fi or updating the driver for it?

Go to Start Orb>Control Panel>Select Classic Menu>Sound and select your X-Fi and set it as default. See if that gives you your sound back.

It shows no devices under sound, also under my device manager it doesn't even show the sound option as well?

Have you had Device Mgr search for hardware changes?

Yes, it found nothing.

I figured it out though, I went through Recovery Manager and had tp update the sound driver through that route and it worked. Damn Vista Update put me through this!

Glad to see got it figured out.

Now anytime you get MS Update check to see what it's trying to update and stop that one.
