Vertical bars on dark scenes with PS3????WTF

I have a 40" samsung lcd in the bedroom and currently have my new ps3 slim hooked up to it to stream netflix and play the occasional Blu Ray. I have started noticing vertical bars all the way across the screen during darker scenes. Anyone else noticed this before? When I called tech support for Samsung, they said it was a PS3 issue and actually common? WTF? Is there a solution to this outside of dumping the ps3 for another xbox 360 slim?

I've got 2 Samsung LCD/LED's and I've never noticed anything like that from the PS3, slim or regular one.

What model# tv do you have? I can check for bulletins/tech tips when I get back to the shop.

I know some of the samsungs have a "Game" mode that affects how the image is displayed. It may be as simple as turning that mode on.

Try different settings on the PS3 to see if it changes.

Whenever it's playing a video hit triangle, and a menu will pop up, you can go through a few settings on there. I could tell you the exact ones if my ps3 wasn't a blinking red pos right now.
