Problem with windows 7

Starting a couple weeks ago, whatever program my computer was mainly using at the time would spike in using all of my available memory eventually locking it up. I've updated windows drivers, video card driver, mobo drivers, flashed in new bios, and reinstalled windows 7, still doing it. Any ideas?

Only thing I can find is in reference to 32 bit apps causing lockups, but that wasn't what I was talking about.
