Installed a pci wireless card in my son's desk top....

Was using a usb type, but he managed to break it off. So I thought I would install a pci wireless adapter card. installed the card, booted the computer up to down load the drivers via a disk. Went through the process and rebooted. Now it is asking me to log into windows Xp? I have never had this computer set up on a password. Tried just hitting enter, nothing. Tried typing in administrator, admin and leaving the password field blank..............nothing. I took out the card, still no good. F8 and had hit log on at the last usable point........nothing.

Any help would be apprecaiated.

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

Back up disks got damaged.

I believe it is pro. I did finally get the administrator to log in. Tried to remove the drivers for the card. It would not remove it from the list. Tried several times. Said fuck it and shut it down for the night. Came up normally this morning. PCI card still not working, but I will try another down load the drivers and see if that works.

I hate to say it, but it helps if you spell administrator correctly. I put an "er" on the end.

card is a WLP54G BY COMPEX, it was given to me by my boss.

Thanks for you help Tx.
