Laptop memory

If I have a Dell that has DDR2-800 PC2-6400

I can't run DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) can I?

it only has 1g and only has one slot so I found this other 2g stick...just want to make sure it will work.

Yes, but you DDR2-800 PC2-6400 will be underclocked/slowed down to the speed of the slower memory. Before you try it, go to www.crucial.com and run the scan tool to make sure your lappy can support that much memory.

thanks for the tips. I know it can support 2g, but I'm wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to 2g at the underclocked speed?

Yes. The speed difference isn't enough that you'd notice for the increase in amount of ram you'll get.
