5.25 Temp Fan Control Displays

Do all these require a separate wire to read each individual temps? If so why? Why can't they collect the info from the computer or is it better to have exact info at all times? TIA

Individual thermistors are more accurate than onboard ones. If it's worth a crap it will have individual thermistors. The fan RPM's will be pulled from the motherboard via software that's included most likely.
