once again, PS3 repair?

Anyone know someone who's repaired a PS3 from the blinking red light, or ylod?

I found a guide online, but after removing everything, then refloating, and reapplying thermal compound, I'm right back where i was.

I'm up for taking it to someone who repairs these things, but would like to know if anyone has used anyone in particular.

I got the YLOD.. the guy fixed it for 50 bucks i think.
Got it again about a month later, he fixed it for free.

Some weeks later i got the blinking red light followed by YLOD and the guy got tired of fixing it and he bought the ps3 from me for 70 bucks.

Just get a new one, my gf got me a ps3 slim the other day for xmas.

Fred, what's it doing? I might be able to fix it, I've done a lot of research, and mine is just too far gone from what one of the guys was telling me.

Sure, there really are only two things we can try, but it just happens that since trying to repair mine, i've acquired all the tools, thermal compound, etc needed to make it happen.

I'll be back from Denver on Sunday night, hit me up next week, and i'll take a look at it.

What?!?!?! PS3 break and get fixed and break again? I thought only 360's did that. Where are the Sony fan boys at on this one.

Just what I was thinking, LMAO. I knew these days were coming, it was just bound to happen. I replaced 2 PS2s back in the day for the laser going out.
