Adobe Premiere vs Pinnacle Studio

I've been using Pinnacle Studio to make simple dvd's for my students. Basically it's pictures, music, and video of things we've done throughout the year. I just got a hold of Adobe Premiere CS3.

Should I learn to use it or should I stick to Pinnacle Studio. I have an old version of Pinnacle Studio 10. Have any of you tried using either? Recommendations?
