I've got a 2nd Gen iPod Touch and love it. The new 3rd Gens have even more storage than the older ones.

It functions just like an iPhone minus the camera, phone, and GPS capabilities. App store works the same as do music and movies.

it doesn't have gps, I have one. It's the same as the iphone as mentioned, it just doesn't have the phone, gps, or camera. It's considerably thinner than an iphone. It does have wifi capability.

The Google Maps App (among others, I'm sure) can approximate your location based on the wifi hotspot you are connected to. It's pretty damn accurate, too. But, if you are not hooked up to WiFi, you have no GPS function.

The 3rd Gen Touch adds the ability to use a integrated Headphone/Microphone if that's an issue. Honestly, if I didn't have a cell phone that my employer pays for, I'd just get an iPhone and be done with it. My only complaint with the iPod Touch is that it isn't an iPhone.

Considering my friend calls me on his ipod touch, I'd say it can be done. I think he had a headset, because he would make calls with skype using his laptop when he did tours in Cental America. He had me make a call with it when he was in town last, but for some reason I just can't remember if he had headset or not for sure.

It has no mic, you have to buy an external mic.

Man, for some reason I just can't remember. If it's bluetooth compatible I'm sure it would work. For some reason he was so stoked that he could make calls with it and made me call myself, and he was going off about it being like $.02 a minute through skype. It worked and it actually worked pretty well. I'm sure how strong the signal from the wireless will greatly affect the quality of the call.

The reason I can't remember was because it was after the big 12 championship game and had been doing a little drinking.
