Switch or Router

I have run out of ethernet ports on my wireless router.
I am needing a gigbabit switch or wired router with more ports.
Which would be the best route to take?

Also if i get the switch should i get managed or unmanaged?

Thanks

Assuming all hosts are addressed on the same subnet, a switch would be the "route" to take. Within a home network, I'm pretty sure this is what you are trying to accomplish.

I doubt you are doing any advanced layer 2 networking, so more than likley, a cheapo un-managed switch should work fine.

Yeah, any standard unmanaged switch will suffice. Hell, at home I have some pretty advanced stuff and hardly ever use the IP address on it to "manage" it. Anytime I setup an NMS or something I get bored and turn it off.

In otherwords an unmanaged switch is fine. DLINK, Linksys...etc. Take your pick, read reviews and done.

Yes this is just for a simple home network that i am trying to stream movies through and play online with a PS3. I just need more gigabit ports.

Any source to get an unmanaged switch from?

I am looking at this one

I use a $15 unmanaged D Link 5 port switch to connect my DISH DVR + Samsung Netflix streaming Blu ray player to my Linksys WAP, which then does a radio shot to my Linksys wireless router. Works perfect. Plug and play set up. Full 100Mbps bandwidth at each port on the switch half-duplex.
