Who knows how to mod the original X-box?

A few weeks ago I was reading CL and saw an ad advertising tons of games, like original NES/SNES games being mod'd onto the original xbox for like $30.

Anyknow know anyone that does this?

Thanks

i want to know too. i tried my self, but couldn't play saved games from the hdd. i made my own stuff to move the stuff over. personally, $30 would be a great price for doing that, but, you will need a bigger hdd and im sure there will be a bigger charge for doing that.

FTP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

its easy. you have to basicly plug the harddrive up and it mod it from there. I did my girlfriends and put 5000 nes snes DC games on there

i did one about 4 years ago. occasionally use it in my bedroom as a media pc but it doesnt stream .mkv vids so not much use anymore to me.

here is what i did:
1. buy chip, xecuter 2.6, soldered on chip.
2. buy big ide hard drive. replace original.
3. download Auto Installer Deluxe and burn to dvd.
4. launch xbox with AID disk
5. install original xbox dashboard to C:
6. install a thirdparty dashboard (like avalaunch or evoX) to D:
(that way you can turn the chip off and the original xbox dash will run so you can still control settings like video and crap, and when you have the chip on it will load the modded dash)
7. after you install the third party dash you can FTP into the xbox from your computer. you can install XBMC (which is definately the best looking dash for it)

8. your done. copy games, music, movies, emulators and roms via ftp.

I soft modded mine a few years ago on the original drive then copied it over to a 2nd drive.

No way I'd mess with all of that again for $30.

I have xbmc and the emulators on mine. With 250gb you can pack a good bit on there.

soft modding is pretty easy as long as you have the right game and the memory card deal. Swapping the hard drive is tougher...

$30 if they put all the games and such on there and swap the hard drive is a fair price IMO.
