Router question!!!!!

We use an internet card from sprint for our internet hook up at home. We went with this because nothing else was available except dial up.

Is there a router out there that we can plug our USB internet card into so that we can have more than one computer on the net at a time?

I would look into bridging that connection through the computers ethernet port.

Now if you had a PCMCIA Sprint card, they have a wireless router for that.

Go buy a Sprint PCMCIA card (laptop wireless sprint card) and a router that accepts them. they make routers where you can plug them in and it will send the wireless signal to multiple computers. I have a Sprint 3G PCMCIA card somewhere in storage I'd give you but it's in Lewisville and I'm in Chicago.

I've never seen one that will accept a USB connection, but I used to use this one with an old AT&T card - http://www.cyberguys.com/product-det...roductid=15678

I have my xbox hooked up to my usb verizon card thru "internet connection sharing"

you can tell your main computer to share the internet it gets from sprint with the Ethernet port on the back of your pc. From there run that to a router or switch, and from there to your other devices.

Google sprint wireless ICS in Google and you will get tons of info.

That is exactly what I would try first.

Is that dependent on operating system? I am kind of out of the Windows loop.

That sounds like the easiest and cheapest route. All I would need is a simple router for that and no need to change cards.

I will get the model number of my wireless thing tonight.

Thanks guys.

there's a really good router out there, made by cradlepoint. Their newest even allows VPN, etc...

A helped a customer of mine config one out at TI, because TI wouldn't allow them to VPN back to their office, from inside the TI network.
