Windows XP Passoword

Have a laptop here at work that I need to get running. Apparently the person who used it before is gone and no one knows the Admin password or his password to get in to it...I can not reformat this computer as it has information on it that is needed and has a specific image that is no longer on this property....Anyone suggest a program that does not cost $200 bones for a one time use...

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

when you're at the log-on screen, press "cntrl+alt+del" twice and the admin account should pop up to sign in. try it with no password first, then try "admin" or something like that. you may get lucky and nobody set up a password for the admin account.

sometimes i install a new copy of windows on the drive, without formatting.. then boot up the new one, and i'm able to access the files still on the hard drive.. this doesn't always work out and i can't remember if i've done it on xp, but just a thought, if you have an xp disk laying around..

If you haven't fixed it by tomorrow evening, you're welcome to swing by my humble abode and grab the disc. PM, if that'll be the case.

I've used this one a few times with success. In fact, I'll be using it again in a few minutes on an old work laptop that has been demoted to training loaner.
