Ok, I am on the hunt for a new cellie. I am still using my LG PM325 from about 4 years ago. I have never had a smartphone, but think it might be time. I will be staying with Sprint as they seem to have the best price for the service ($69 for unlimited talk to other cells, unlimited data and 450 anytime mins.)

I think I am down to 3 phones... Palm Pre, Samsung Instinct HD (releasing on 9/27) and Samsung Instinct Q (releasing sometime before the end of Oct.)

So I have a Web OS, Brew and Android phone there, I know little to nothing about all 3 of those OS's...please school me along with your choices.

To help make your choice I will list out as much info as I can find for each phone.

Instinct HD -

Samsung Instinct HD is the successor of the Instinct. It will be proud to offer a refreshed design with smoother lines, 3.2-inch touchscreen, a 5-megapixel autofocus camera and the capability to record and play HD videos. HDMI out is also found on this phone.

Instinct Q -

The Samsung Instinct Q SPH-M900 is expected to launch with Sprint very soon. This may be the first Android phone for the carrier, and it is also a side-slider, equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi, GPS and full HTML browser.

Palm Pre -

No consideration for the Touch Pro 2? I loved my original touch. Touch Diamond blew. TP2 looks to have fixed why I hated the diamond...

HTC hero is coming out in mid Oct. for sprint running on ANDROID saw some reviews on it pretty nice set up from what I saw.

I saw that one also, no chin and no actual keyboard. If I went that route, I think I would rather have the Instinct Q

Ive got the palm pre and really like it, I had the HTC touch(good phone) and then the HTC Pro (phone sucked really bad) so unless they made improvements on the pro i would stay away from it. just my 2 cents

Did anyone suggest the iPhone? With the exception of free mobile to mobile between cell phones, it would be the same price for the at&t 450 minute plan with unlimited data. You would also have the benefit of being on At&t's network.

What the pre has going for it is the cheapest phone to own, it's everything plan with free cell to cell is 70 dollars a month. never goes over that amount. I'm pretty sure the cheapest iphone monthly charge is 90, and if you break your iphone you're fucked. With sprint you can get a new pre with the service plan.

thats not true- i think apple told me theres a 3 year warranty on the iphone, only thing it doesnt cover is physical damage

The TP2 is a major improvement over the TP. I went through 7 TPs. All KB failures but they replaced all of them in store. Actually, the first 3 they sent me NIB phones.

yeah i had a problem with my iphone not booting up about a week ago and i took it to apple, they said they'd replace it with a new one if they couldnt restore it.. i dont play football with it so im not too terribly worried about physically breaking it
