Gmail Push on iPhone now available

http://googlemobile.blogspot.com/200...l-support.html

Google added gmail to their active sync protocol. This means you can get real push gmail now.

I've set it up on my iPhone but it seems like some people are having problems because I'm sure google's servers are getting hammered by millions of iPhone users.

hell yeah! Kickass!

**EDIT** Nevermind, I thought "push" was where it would show new emails instantly instead of having to wait every 15 minutes for my phone to fetch the data. Owell.....

ok cool, I set all that up but it still takes forever to get notifications. Sucks but owell. I could see it being more useful for pushing contacts and such between the pc and phone.

It's taking several minutes for me to get notifications also (5-6min).

It is probably just overloaded and it's running slowly and returning errors. They are working on it. Once the service is working correctly you should get notifications near instantly (couple seconds).
