If you can swing $50 more, this is pretty good.

The gateway's are widely known for being the best bang for the buck gaming laptops - here's an example - for $50 more - you get MUCH more performance..I know you can find them cheaper outside of BB.

I would think as long as it comes with a warranty longer than 30 days you should be okay. Any electronic item that is returned to the manufacturer and then resold must be sold as "refurbished" no matter what the reason was for the return. Might be buyers remorse, or could be a bad processor...you never know.

I bought my Dell XPS M1710 refurbed in 2006 and saved about $1400 off of building the same machine new. I haven't had any issues related to it being refurbished, my only problems has come from Dell's poor design(overheating) and everybody(at least what I've read) has had this whether they bought new or used.

I wouldn't have any problems buying a refurb again, it just won't be a Dell.
