Is there a difference(ATA-6 vs. ATA-100)?

Is there a difference between ATA-6 and ATA-100? I'm needing to buy a HD for my Dell laptop and Dell Support said it is a PATA IDE ATA-100 but they sent me a link to ATA-6. Will this one workhttp://cgi.ebay.com/Laptop-hard-driv...d=p3286.c0.m14

That one should be fine.

ATA6 = ATA-100 ATA6 refers to the mode, ATA-100 refers to the transfer rate. They are one in the same, just referred to differently. Kind of like memory. DDR2 800 is also referred to as PC2-6400. They are one in the same.
