video card question

i just recently started editing HD videos with Sony Vegas 8 Pro, and my current comp is not cutting it. previews are choppy and is slow in general. this reason and others made me decide to upgrade.
the question is, with a quad core processor( Intel® Core™2 Q9650 (12MB,3.0GHz, 1333FSB)) and running a dual monitor set up, would dual Radeon HD4850 512MB handle the task? or should i get the dual Radeon HD 4870 1024MB? there is about $200 difference.

i will be ordering through dell most likely, and those are their choices.

i thank you for any info.

Radeon HD 4870 1024MB
It'll allow you to display your After Effects work on your ntsc monitor, should you have the need later on.
