iphone restore

anyone know if it's possible to restore an iphone to a previous backup? I restored mine last night and checked the "as new" box and I lost all of my contacts.

This damn thing is frustrating

Your old back-up should still be there. I would hit restore again and see if you are allowed to use your old back-up when it is done.

I tried that and didn't allow me to select any other backup than the most recent, which was after the first restore with like new settings where I lost the contacts...

I may be SOL on this...it seems that itunes overwrites the backup at each sync (only keeps 1 and it's the most recent) fkn apple bastards

Anyway, I just remembered that I restored the phone under a different profile a few months ago, so maybe I still have THAT backup available.

I'll try this

Did you sync your contacts with Microsoft Contacts? If you did they will still be there. If that is all your worried about.

nope, never did that

This is all just a stupid mistake on my part. Next time I have to do this, I'll know to backup my backup before restoring again.

I've done countless restores and updates to my iphone due to jailbreaking when it first came out. Next time you sync make sure you click the option it gives to sync with microsoft contacts. And always move your pictures to your computer so you can get them back.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to start doing that, or at least figure out how to move my contacts to my sim card...

what are the chances that my contacts might actually still be on the sim?

Apparently pretty damn good!! At least most of the contacts were there!!! woohoo!!!!1
