Put my laptop back to stock, Have problems

My parents bought this laptop for me last Christmas, and the computer store they bought it from took Vista off, and put XP on. Well after trying to find drivers for my built in WIFI, I read that Compaq no longer supports rolling back to XP. My WIFI went out a while back, and I can't get that shit to turn on.

I decided to put vista back on it, and everything went ok, but then maybe the 3rd time I started the computer up. (2 weeks later) The laptop will start but after 30 seconds restart. When in Safe mode it doesn't reboot on its own.

I hate this fucking laptop.

Figured. My fucking Wifi on/off light stays orange (off) the entire time. I had to go buy the recovery DVD off of Compaq site. $50 Dollars.

You need the install disk the laptop came with. Chances are, when you re-installed vista, all the drivers were not available for that laptop, or they are not installed properly. Compaq may be able to mail one to you, but you will probably have to pay a descent amount for it.

you should be able to find the drivers for your laptop off Compaq's website for free. If you can't connect ot the internet wifi/nic then use another computer and put them on a CD or flash drive.

This is another route. It all depends on how much time you want to spend. It takes a while finding all the drivers, and manually installing everything, and making sure you have the correct driver.

The usual cause of a crash with vista is a bad driver... Try updating your drivers first, (Video, chip set, sound, nic, wireless, etc.) Not a vista expert, but in my experience it seems to be really picky with video drivers

Maybe you can take it out officespace style. All you need is a bat, and alot of pent up anger.

How is he going to load the drivers if he can't get into vista? I don't think you can load drivers in safemode.

Well I am thinking it has to do with the fact that my product key on the back of my laptop doesn't fucking work.
