I stay the hell away. I'd much rather torrent. You can preview all of the files in a set, and it also has ratings from the community, so if another sucker before you downloaded it and it was a virus, there will more than likely be a post about it.

I occasionally use limewire but not very often. I prefer torrents. Having said that, if you use one and dl a song, scan it w/ your AV first. If by chance when you go to open the song and WMP says "the .mp3 extension does not match the files extension and may not play..." you can be pretty sure it's a bug; or if your media player says it needs a codec to open the file, prolly a bug.

Hope that helps and use at your own risk.

What are you trying to dl specifically? Just use like a megaupload searcher, mediafire searcher, rapidshare searcher, sendspace searcher, etc.

If you wanna download stuff thats that big, I'd say go for torrents. I get most of my shows that aren't on Hulu from there

Its true. I use uTorrent and it rocks. Just be sure to port forward and open the port that uTorrent uses. Also find a good torrent site like thepiratebay.org or btjunkie.org

beware of public torrent sites and ANY p2p client, just don't use them at all. They store IP information which if they get sued (which they will, because they are a legal entity that is targetable) they will cough up. Torrents provide a faceless cloud of clients, unable to be targeted. Torrents are here to stay, every other type of file transfer has and will continue to fail.

according to the article, they will not be keeping any logs, but it is $7/mth, is it worth it? Up to you.

any centralized entity is targetable, they will be sued, shut down, and their logs seized, guaranteed.
