Exclamation

If you prefer a suite, Norton 2009 is tops. If you're skeptical, try the 15 day trial, otherwise, for free, Avira is the best.

I'd stay away from Norton, it really seems to slow PC's down while doing it's open file checking.

Avast has been really good for me for free, and with Windows 7 I downloaded AVG, and it doesn't seem to hog much on the resources.

Malwarebytes takes the cake on spyware, hands down

Malwarebytes for the WIN for spyware but what about antivirus? I have never really had any good luck with the free antivirus software so would really like to buy something. I did a quick goole search & found this. What do you guys think?

This is what I wave for AV http://www.pcantivirusreviews.com/reviews/kaspersky_antivirus.html
I couldn't be happier with it since I got rid of the Norton system hog.

And Malwarebytes for spyware, it rocks.

I use AVG Free on all my computers, works great.

For Spyware, I love Malwarebytes, plus I usually run Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D as well.

Norton used to slow systems down but they got it right w/ the 2009 lineup.

Here's a SS of Task MGR of my system w/ NIS 2009. Notice only 2 Processes and just over 3Megs of ram used.

Avast.com

To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad.

I'm currently using the Trial of Norton Gaming Edition 2009 and I plan on buying either it or Norton Classic 2009. I have always hated Norton for using so many resources and system scanning that takes over the whole computer and startup processes that take forever. But they got it right in 2009 and I applaud them for it. Granted gaming edition is not neccessary for gaming, I never use the feature actually, but at least I know that the new lineup is going to be good now.

Btw you can pickup Norton Antivirus Classic 2009 for $14.99 right now.

Thumbs up

Finally someone else tried it. I've been singing it's praises for 8 months now and most say, "Norton @#$^%*&[email protected]$!"
