time warner just got faster...

noticed a switch from 15 down, 20 with powerboost, to 20 down, 25 with powerboost.

Their website reflects the changes as well, top tier is 20mb/s down, 1mb/s up

No, no official changes yet. That's the powerboost:

It's on my bill this month reflecting the change, a friend had mentioned it was on their website, but looks like it isn't updated yet. I'm benchmarking at 25 down with powerboost, 20 base now. You might want to reset your modems if you're in the arlington area, because I did get a big increase when I did.

They're not official changes. Your friend is wrong. Arlington's plant is simply being updated and you would see the increase on the speedtest, that's more so what power boost is about. I'll let you know when there is any official changes.

FYI - I've gotten over 30 before with powerboost. Nobody in the metroplex (unless you're a biz account) is getting faster than the RR Turbo (10 MBPS).

I must be wrong then, I usually got around 15-20 or so with powerboost, and after I reset my modem it's getting 25-30 regularly. Must be those upgrades you were talking about, assuming a speed increase soon?

Yeah, after they did the change, I found out the wiring inside my house is not compatible. Now we're having to have new wire ran inside the house for the net.

Grant, take a look here..

http://www.timewarnercable.com/Dalla...edpricing.html

this is what he was talking about, showing 15mb/s

if you click the speed levels link on your page, it takes you to this one. dslreports has a thread about the dallas area timewarner getting a big increase.

Oh, yeah. I was well aware of it, I've been on vacation and didn't think it was communicated yet...as you can see, it hasn't been on all customer-facing content...

Not a flame at all, I apologize if it came off that way. Also, it's still the same smiley - I just figured it was worth an explanation. It's pretty much a given that speeds will increase, that's just part of the game. I'm just curious where I lied?
