DVD drive not reading...

My dvd drive in my laptop is now not reading any disks that I put in it. When I look at the properties of the disk, it tells me that it's blank, when I know it's not. Take the disk to another laptop in the house, and it works fine.

Whats the deal here?

delete the driver in system properties and do a hard reboot...it should find it and reinstall the driver - I THINK

Depending what you do with that it could be as simple as a dirty drive. Blow it out a bit and check the laser mechanism.

Does it do this with all disks, or just that particular one?

it's not uncommon for optical drives to go out on laptops, probably needs to be replaced. There are no drivers for optical drives by the way, it only uses firmware. I've seen similar issues caused by daemon tools as well though.
