Marvel vs Capcom 2 (PSN and XBLA)

HELL YEAH BITCHES!

Quote:
It's finally official! Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to both the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade this Summer, and boy did Capcom do the right thing for fans. The game is detailed on the Capcom Unity blog, and we have a trailer of the game for you to watch after the jump. I have a sneaking feeling that both the details and the short video are going to make you pretty happy.

Here's the trailer, for your viewing pleasure.

Okay, now for the good bits. The game is based on the code of the Dreamcast version of the title, the preferred version for the competitive community. The game will be online, and it will use the "critically acclaimed net code that we used in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix" and also the player match quarter mode/lobby system from that game. "So on the net code side, you’re pretty much assured the best fighting game net code ever created for consoles," we're assured.

There are a few options for widescreen support and HD scaling depending on how you like to play your games, but the big news is that there will be no unlocking. No tedious grinds to get all the characters; all the fighters will be available from the first moment you download the game. "All 56 characters will be unlocked at the start for immediate play, again great for tournament play where players won’t need to mess with save game data or hacked versions," the blog confirms. Very, very cool.

There will be a demo on the PlayStation Network this week, so we'll be able to play sooner rather than later. No other pricing or release information has been shared, but this is still a great set of features for a classic game. No more tracking down overpriced copies from collectors—now we'll all be able to play.
