Destop or Laptop

I'm ready to get me something new. Not sure what I should get though. The only thing I use my computer for is searching the net & uploading my pics & videos. What would you guys recommend? My desktop is like 10 years old.

IMO, you get better performance in a desktop. So unless you really need the portability, then go with the desktop.

Desktops are said to last longer. If portability is an issue then you've already made up your mind.

Portability doesn't matter. It will be for home use only.

Where can I find the best deal on a new desktop? Don't need anything crazy, just want something fast for downloading & surfing the web.

If your desktop is ~10 years old then any new computer will be light years ahead of what you have. I have had good luck with Dell.

Your best value is in one you build yourself or have built w/ off the shelf parts. You can upgrade it and if something breaks, you don't have to pay out the keester for insert name here's proprietary CRAP.
