Empire: Total War

Im a veteran of all the Total War series games, and this is a step up from them. The naval combat is extremely difficult and a very innovative challenge to try to master. I have yet to figure out how to tackle ships much larger than my own without just swarming them. Maneuverability doesnt seem to work at my low tech level.

The AI is a prick, they love to raid your towns and farms if they arnt strong enough to tackle your armies and garrisons head on. The battlefield AI is much more robust than previous AI.

Final thoughts : Fuck the redcoats. Fuck em right in the ass. God damn limeys.

Did you manage to defeat the brits at Bunker Hill? Lol. I didnt. I got the shit kicked out me by being too aggressive with my calvary. The enemy AI is a lot more cunning than in previous Total War games.

The results of me and Spenser's first multiplayer game:

An american army and a UK army vs two french armies. The french feignted an attack on both our lines. Then bumrushed my line in a giant melee. Spens had to wheel and haul ass to help, lol. I was facing like 2600 men with my 1200. That giant blob of bodies to the center left is where they hit, lol.

Here is the results of one of my battles in the campaign against the prussians. My MVPs were grenadiers. I had a giant melee going around where you see all the bodies. Only a few of my guys were fighting and the rest were enemy, so i had my grenadiers chuck grenades into the packed masses. 60 grenadiers = 60 Grenades = Lots of dead prussians. I didnt have much left at the end of the battle, i was outnumbered from the start by about 3 to 1 though and won!

Well that looks fun as hell. I've never played any of the previous games, so I guess there is a sharp learning curve?

Controlling the units is fairly straight forward. The tactics are what are the hard part to learn. Formations, facing and flanking are very important.

I've been getting better and really bringing the thunder now. Siege attacks are my favorite... shit gets a little hairy though with all the multi tasking required. AI still needs some work, they don't always do what you tell them to do.

I have noticed the same thing too. It seems to happen when there isn't enough room for the formation at the destination.

sent you a friend invite.

John, try out the Grand Campaign. Try someone like Prussia. Its pretty hard as balls fighting it out in europe.

Great Britain is almost too easy until they fix an AI bug. THe AI will not do naval invasions at all, so england is entirely safe from invasion.

In my campaign im slugging it out in europe with the powers-that-be. Prussia is a bitch to fight. Their armies are big and well organized.
