iPod syncing question

So I got a new computer, and my buddy let me copy ~8gigs of music from his external hard drive to my new machine. Now I'm trying to sync my iPod to my new machine with all this music. When I convert everything to iTunes format and go to sync the iPod to the new machine, it "syncs" for like 5 seconds then stops, and nothing is transferred to the iPod. What am I doing wrong? I know there is plenty of space on the iPod, as it is the 30gb version. Any ideas?

Taylor

Doesn't it normally want to format when syncing with a new computer? Have you tried resetting the iPod and trying the sync again?

Do you have it set to sync music manually or are the playlists selected in itunes?

3/4 of the stuff on my ipod is pirated music.

Go to the menu where your ipod's info is. There should be a spot for syncing, and you need to check a box that shows what group of music you want to sync up with like if you have a certain playlist or if you want to sync all music.

I ran into the same problem, and essentially I found that you can't do it . Although a friend of mine told me I could add the new stuff under a new playlist. Couldn't figure it out, so I just said fuck it and started over.

So a friend burning a cd for you to listen to is piracy as well?

Goldenmp3.ru is nice, that's where I buy mine... Usually right at $1.50 per cd.

you can hit show hidden files, there is a directory on the ipod that has all your mp3s, copy that to your desktop. wipe it, and readd. quick and easy.
