Animal Crossing for Wii

Do you HAVE to be connected to the internet to play this game? I've searched, and can't really find anything that gives me a definite answer. I live in the boonies and can't get high speed internet. Any info on this game will be greatly appreciated.

No, it can be played without any internet connectivity. WFC is for traveling to other towns or having visitors. Yes, highspeed only, no dialup.

I know I will get a lot of shit for saying this, but animal crossing is a great game.

Just to let you know I went from WildBlue highspeed satellite to AT&T dsl (wasn't available at the time I got wildblue) and wildblue worked great for online gaming when games don't require a quick latency.

All the equipment i paid $400, it is only 6 months old and only cost $60 a month for 1gig download. I will sell all the equipment to you (dish, wiring, reciever, highspeed box) $150. Only reason I went with DSL is online gaming for first person shooters, etc...

Well the Wii is my mothers, and she's not interested in paying money for high speed internet.

But $60 for 1GB?? I have Verizon Wireless Broadband for my computer and pay that much and get 5GB. I would assume 1GB would go quickly
