Vista Ultimate X64 w/ SP1

I'm trying to do a fresh install of Vista 64 but I'm having issues. The hardware is as follows:
Asus P5Q Deluxe
Q6600
4Gigs Dominator 1066
500Gig Sata HDD
Diamond 4870

Initially I was doing it w/ a 9600GT factory OC'ed but every time I'd get the video drivers loaded it would blu screen 5-8 seconds into booting.

I'm gonna format the drive and try it again. I've heard that you should only install w/ 2gigs of memory then add then extral later. Is this true? Is there a certain process/order I should load the drivers? It will operate with the mobo drivers but hangs and stutters and I can't have that.

Any help/tips/advice id MORE than GREATLY appreciated.

Bryan

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

is there an older set of drivers for the 9600GT you can try? Not too familiar with x64...

I did my install with all 4gb installed.

I'm running a Gigabyte P35DSL with e2200 oc, 4gb ram, and a 512mb 8800gt with 64bit ultimate for almost a year now

When installing a new OS the order should be
Service Packs/Updates
Chipset drivers
Video drivers
Sound drivers
Ethernet drivers

Which makes it a pain in the ass to have to download all the drivers, then transfer them to the new computer since the NIC drivers come last.

Well after talking w/ Microsoft, it appears that a Developers version was mis-packaged in a retail box. Their supposed to send him a new disc.

What are the chances.
