Stupid LAN issue... Vista Sucks

Ok, I can connect just fine to my lan and have internet access when using my wireless. I turned the wireless switch (on the laptop) off, and plugged in a lan cable, and the damn thing just sits there with "Identifying" all day long. never connects. I have another computer with vista that works fine wired. but for some reason my laptop wont do it. Ive tried uninstalling the adapter. I've disabled the Ipv6. Any other ideas? Im using a Belkin router. Computer is a Dell XPS M1530.

really, it would? so have you uninstalled vista on this computer and put on XP, linux, etc in order to prove this theory is correct?

some people are like slinkies; they're completely useless, but still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I did with an HP machine I used to have, XP worked fine, fedora worked fine, vista was fucked... exact same issue daniel is talking about too.
