lmao

i stopped by a computer store up here to see if i could get a used stick of ram for my computer. he went to look and found a stick of 512 PC2100 and brought it out front, so i asked him how much he wanted for it. he looks at it and looks at me and says " oh, i don't know, how about $45" i looked at him and said "are you serious?" he says "yes". i then looked him and told him "ok, well, i can get a brand new 1gb stick for about $25" and walked out. well, i went to newegg and ordered it. i should get it tomorrow. can't wait to speed up my computer some. this thing maxes out at 1gb so i wont' be able to go any more. im at 512 right now

Think you need to format/reinstall your OS(XP), read this first.

it started going crazy on me, not wanting to boot up right, not reading that the HD was hooked up. so i went to CL and got a Dell 2.0ghz Intel and sold that one with my (nothing wrong with it) 250gb HD, without a OS. got $50 for it. i think i was having a memory problem, but i needed a "faster" computer. im hoping to get me a dual core from Tiger Direct sometime soon

Cool, I was curious if it ever bit the dust as it would be 7 or 8 yrs old now. As far as dual proc systems, you can get a boxed on from flys pretty cheap right now. All you need it teh tower right? You have a monitor, keyboard... to use don't you?
As far as that goes, you could likely build one for the price of a boxed one and have the option to upgrade it in the future as it won't be proprietary like a boxed on would be. You have an OS that you can put on it so long as you take your current puter out of service.
If you don't have the disc lemme know and I'll host an .iso for you so you can burn the disc to install w/.
