question for the iPod gurus...

i was given a little shuffle and the only charger it has is the charging/loading dock with a usb cable. i have heard that if you plug an ipod into another computer you will lose all the music. is that true? i wanna charge it while here at work but i don't wanna plug it up and then have an empty ipod . the computer i have here at work does not have itunes or any kind of mp3 music software that i am aware of.

should i be ok?

thanks

oh yea i posted this in here instead of the back porch because i might get an actual answer here instead of the usual bullshit posts

IF you have iTunes installed on that computer, it will ask you if you want to sync it with the music library on that computer, which will cause the iPod to be erased. However you can cancel this...

If you do not have iTunes installed, you won't have any issues.

Yep. Plus, you can charge it basically in anything that has a USB port.

Set the iPod up to control music manually and you won't have to worry about it.

While you won't be able to copy music from both computers, it will prevent it from automatically syncing when you hook it up to another computer.
