wanting to trim the fat

wanting to cut down on so unnecessary stuff. we have a home phone that does not get alot of use, but it is needed for DSL, and out DISH receiver has to be hooked up to a phone line.

so what TV-internet service can i get and cut the phone back to a very basic local service only? our DSL is part of out phone package, and if i cut the phone back to local only, out internet goes up.

Change you phone pck to measured line only. Take off any features if you don't need them, caller ID, call forward, etc. I believe Dish only requires phone to order stuff from receiver. You can always call in to order. If you don't want phone at all, ask for a "Dry DSL".

,

i just called DISH, and for some reason they did not have our DVR bundled with our package, so there is $5 a month saved. i am also getting our phone and dish bundle together through Embarq, so that will save another $10. and then i am going to see about dropping our DSL down one level on speed, should be another $5-10. so a possible $20-25 savings per month.

from 300mbps to 100mbps sounds right. Saving me like 20$ a month but its annoying, everything doesn't just pop-up like it used too, there is a bit of load time which just makes it feel a little sluggish

Not sure where you are located at, or what you currently pay...but I have Charter for Cable (all channels except HBO, Cinemax, etc) Phone (free calls anywhere in Texas, caller ID, call waiting, etc) and Internet (20mb I believe) and it only costs me $97 a month tax included.
