WTF is wrong with my speakers to my CPU

I've got a pair of Phillips Speakers hooked up to my computer, had no issues until today. Alot of static, music cuts in & out...all the connections are fine. I've only had these speakers for about 3 months now
These sound great when woprking fine but today everything has static???

Are you sure your sound card is seeded firmly in the motherboard?

I don't see how it couldn't be, like I said the speakers were working great just 2 days ago and all before then. My cpu hasn't been moved or anything

i think you have the same problem i did. i have a set of klipsch 2.1s that were fantastic, but then for some reason started playing a fair amount of static and i just figured they were blown which sucks seeing as they were 150$ speakers. it was tolerable so i just used them like that for the next 3 years..

recently i got a used mobo/processor and an audigy sound card form my friend. i just put the stuff together and wow... all of a sudden everything sounded crystal clear again.

so imo its your sound card and audigy FTW!

Test another set of speakers before you think about messing with anything else. It could be a driver/setting issue. I know if the SPDIF box is check in your sound options you will just get static.

Through the green audio input in the back of my cpu, I even tried the front input and same results
I'm going to return these speakers tomorrow and get a different setup, if they don't work then I'll know for a fact it's my cpu and will replace my soundcard

Well returned those Phillips, I believe b/c they were 2.0 is the reason my computer didn't like them. I picked up a Logitech 5.1 Surround System today......sounds stupid sick!
