Microsoft Employee Purchase Program, a joke?

So I got the email this morning to check the site out for our EPP, and i'm browsing the items they offer in the EPP but where is the discount? I mean most of the stuff I looked at, is cheaper on newegg.

So why even bother?

Had a friend work there at one time and it was not like that back in 99-01. Can't remember a good example off the top of my head but there were good deals on things.

Sticking it to the employee these days I guess.

If you can't fuck your employees, who can you fuck?

Anyone else noticed the recent pathetic ad push from MS to combat the iMac commercials?

I've only seen one with Seinfeld. That one was ok. The ones I'm talking about are "I am PC."

I remember having someone pick up Visual Studio 6.0 from the UT bookstore for me for $5 and Microsoft Office for $5.

My 401K is now a 400K (was 301K)

When I worked at the RadioShack HQ's I got a deal on Office 2007 Enterprise Edition for $25 which I think was a smoking hot deal, I think it was around $300 or so at the time.

I just picked it up for $15 here at school, and that's a wonderful thing. We also get a pretty hideous discount on Adobe products, although it's still not cheap enough for me not to pirate the CS3 programs.

Buddy of mine had a daughter in law that worked for microsoft. I picked up a copy of office 2000 (yes, this was awhile ago) for about $50. That beat the hell out of the office 2003 that I picked up for $450 later on.
