1080p X360 Games

Did anyone notice a difference in going from 1080i to 1080p on their 360?

I got a new LCD tv yesterday and moved my DLP tv out of my room, the DLP didn't accept 1080p over component cable. And i'm not replacing my Launch 360 for a new one until I can find a Jasper.

You won't get 1080p over component cable, period. You need HDMI.

Microsoft claims you can

HD 1080p video mode support over VGA and component cables.

1080p over component is possible, but it won't do 1080p from a say a bluray player over component due to BR standards. I think its the same for hd-dvd, as in if I had the hd-dvd player for the 360 I couldn't output 1080p over component either.

Yes, you can. It's just that most TV's won't accept 1080p over component natively. Both of my TV's have the capability.
